In late February 2020, Interra Realty was exclusively engaged to market 424 N. Wood St., a 20,523 SF flex/office property in the Kinzie Industrial Corridor. There was strong interest in this property from the start and a buyer was chosen within a week of marketing. The deal stayed alive during COVID-19 shutdowns with both buyer and seller agreeing to extensions during due diligence. Due to the pandemic, the tenant – a catering company – was no longer able to operate in this size of space, so the buyer pivoted and brought in a partner. Ultimately, the buyer decided to close with the intention of revamping the space and marketing to a new tenant.
